CLOUD & MICROSOFT 365 · NORTHEAST OHIO

Cloud support for Microsoft 365, Azure, and Google Workspace — without losing local accountability.

We administer your Microsoft 365 tenant, manage identity and access, keep your cloud infrastructure healthy, and run migrations when you move off aging on-premises servers. Most clients keep their existing platforms — we add the parts that make them reliable, secure, and recoverable.

What this page covers

What does NHM actually do for cloud, in plain language?

Day to day, we administer your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace tenant, manage identity and access (who can sign in, from where, on which devices), monitor your cloud infrastructure for problems, verify backups, and step in when something breaks. We also run the migrations - moving workloads off aging on-premises servers, consolidating tenants, moving to Azure when it is the right fit, moving back to on-premises when it is.

We are platform-agnostic about the choice but opinionated about the deployment. We do not resell a specific cloud vendor. We pick the platform that fits your workload, your compliance posture, and your budget, and we work with the platform you already have if that is the right answer. That is different from vendors who have a quota to push their preferred cloud.

Where does my data live, and who can see it?

For Ohio regulated-data clients - HIPAA, PCI, CJIS - NHM's default deployment is U.S.-based Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud regions. Microsoft and Google both sign HIPAA Business Associate Addenda (BAAs) and Data Processing Addenda (DPAs) that govern how they handle your data. Those agreements say the vendor can only use your data the way you tell them to, and they limit where it can be moved.

Access is a separate question. Whoever at NHM administers your environment has access because they have to, and that access is logged. The cloud vendor's own engineers have access under their BAA scope - Microsoft and Google publish the controls they use to limit and audit that. If you have a specific data-residency requirement (some healthcare and government clients do), we will set that up explicitly and document it for your auditors.

What does migration cost, and what is the rollback if it fails?

Migration pricing depends on what you are moving and how much. A 50-seat Microsoft 365 tenant consolidation is a different scope than a multi-workload Azure migration with on-premises dependencies. We send a written quote after the environment review, with the assumptions listed.

The rollback plan is the part most providers skip. We do not. For every migration, the engagement document includes a staged cutover sequence - pilot, parallel run, cutover, validation, decommission - with explicit rollback triggers and a documented path back to the prior state if the cutover fails. If a cutover does go wrong, the documented path back is what turns it into hours of disruption instead of weeks, which is why the rollback plan is kept current through the engagement.

How is NHM's cloud support different from a generic MSP?

Two differences matter. First, NHM is local and owner-led: the person who answers the phone is the person who knows your environment. Cloud support from a remote-only MSP tends to be ticket-queue-driven; ours is relationship-driven.

Second, NHM does not resell a specific cloud vendor. We work with the platform you have, pick the platform that fits your workload if you are starting fresh, and tell you honestly when a workload does not belong in the cloud. Sometimes the right answer is moving a workload back on-premises; the cloud-first sales pattern does not fit every workload, and we will say so.

How do I get a quote and what does the engagement look like?

Free discovery call - 30 minutes, no commitment. We will look at your current environment, what is on-premises, what is already in the cloud, and what you want to do. If you move forward, we run an environment review, document the migration plan with rollback triggers, schedule the cutover, and operate the steady state.

FAQ

Common questions

No. A hybrid environment, with some workloads on-premises and some in the cloud, is normal and fine. We work with what you have. If you are running a server from 2018 and it is dying, we will tell you honestly whether cloud is the right move for that workload or whether the right move is a new server.

Yes. We administer the tenant, manage identity and access, configure conditional access policies, and handle the things the default Microsoft admin console does not surface. You keep your existing Microsoft 365 subscription; we add the support layer.

Monitoring runs 24/7 on every tier, so the alert is raised at 2am either way. What happens next depends on the plan: Complete and Advanced include after-hours support, and Advanced adds a 24/7 SOC and written response-time agreements. On Essentials the help desk is business hours, so a critical alert is picked up first thing unless you have an after-hours arrangement in writing. The monthly report shows what came in, what was caught, and what was done.

Both. Being 'in the cloud' is not the same as being backed up. Microsoft's service-level agreements cover uptime, not your data. A deleted OneDrive or SharePoint file sits in the recycle bins for 93 days by default, and a permanently deleted email is kept for 14 days unless an admin extends it to 30. After that, without a separate backup, it is gone. NHM's deployment includes a separate backup tier with verified restore - we test the restores, not just document them.

Yes, for the technical-safeguard portion. We deploy on U.S.-based Azure or Google Cloud regions with BAA / DPA in place, configure the controls auditors expect, and produce the documentation they ask for. The policy and procedure layer is separate and lives on our healthcare and PCI pages.

Microsoft 365 management is part of the Complete and Advanced managed-IT tiers; Essentials covers help desk, monitoring, backup and security around the tenant. Migrations and other cloud projects are quoted on their own. We send a written quote after a discovery call.
