Local SEO
Rank checks, map scans, business profile tracking, reviews, citations and competitor reports for a local business, paid in credits and always quoted first.
Updated · 11 articles
Local SEO measures where a business shows up when someone nearby searches: the map pack, the organic results, the Google Business Profile. Every measurement is a paid provider call, so every action is quoted in credits before it runs and never settles above the quote.
Plan: the local_seo capability is Pro and Enterprise. Pro includes 250 credits a month, Enterprise 1,900; Free gets a one-time grant of 100 credits. There are no credit packs to buy: the plan is where credits come from, and plans are bought in the iPhone app.
Articles
- Local search report and autopilot - set up from your website, then one report: Google Maps, the 3-pack, search, your listing checked field by field, competitors and next steps, emailed and schedulable.
- Credits, quotes and prices - what each action costs, the monthly allowances, the quote-first rule, and recovering a paid action after a timeout.
- Quick start - business name, city and up to five phrases: one check of the map pack, the organic results and your listing.
- Business profile and keyword targets - the saved profile, location verification, and up to 25 tracked phrases.
- Rank checks - live positions for every tracked phrase on the local pack and organic surfaces, with history.
- Scheduled rank tracker - a daily or weekly check of the saved phrases, off by default, charged like a manual one, with per-domain settings and plan limits.
- SEO alerts - what raises one (rank changes, score drops, new failing checks), that they land in the feed and morning summary rather than as pushes, and how to turn them off.
- Site-wide audit findings - what the whole-site audit reports about a site's structure (broken internal links, redirect chains and loops, orphans, depth, thin, duplicate and templated content, canonical conflicts), and when orphan and depth findings are held back.
- Local SEO response cache - a repeat inside the freshness window is free and the answer is marked cached; how long each endpoint keeps its answer, and how to force a fresh result.
- Map scans (geogrid) - one phrase measured from 25, 49 or 81 points across the service area on a real map.
- Reports and the action catalog - the 33 catalogued actions: citations, reviews, competitor gap, backlinks, AI visibility and full audits.

The order to do things in
- Open the local search report and set it up from your website. The first scan (25 credits for five phrases) reads Maps, the 3-pack, search and your listing, and lists your competitors.
- Save the business profile properly and add up to 25 keyword targets.
- Run a rank check after each change to the site or the listing.
- Run a map scan on the one phrase that matters most to see where the pack drops off.
- Buy the citation consistency report once, fix what it lists, and re-run it in a quarter.
Common questions
Is Local SEO available on Starter? No. It is Pro and Enterprise. Starter has the website SEO crawl; the Local SEO suite needs the credits allowance that comes with Pro.
Can I try it on Free? The one-time 100 credits are spendable on Local SEO only once the suite is on the account (a Pro trial, an upgrade, or an admin grant); on Free they can pay for accessibility audits. The 7-day Pro trial, which a Free account can start once a year from the DomainGuard iPhone app, is the way to try it without a card.
